Over Heating

Hi all i have a 2.3 gia petrol on a 2001 plate x reg the problem i am having is with the temp gage and fans if i am sat idle for a bit the temp needle rises but the fans dont come on i have changed the thermostat and still no sign of the fans coming on can any one help mew locate the fan switch or fuse pleas

FUSE SPECIFICATION CHART.docI think this is for the Galaxy but not completely sure.

Please see attachment it may give you some help but as I say don't hold me to it.

Fuses covering fans are 14,34,main fuse box and 104,& 105 in auxiliary box nex to battery

Hi dont want to sound daft but what is fuse 104 and 105 in the auxiliary box?

Are you saying you haven't got the fuse box by the battery?

I do have a fuse box by the battery only it has max 8 fuses in it but there is a relay under it not sure what that does all the fuses in the black box are ok dont seem to find the fan switch any where it looks like a job for an auto elec i think

The Ford engine models don't appear to have the thermo switch in the radiator but does have a fan control relay, probably what you can see under fuse box, fuse 18 also controls on some models.

Have you connected 12 volt straight to the fan(s) to make sure they are working?

Hi I did check if the fan was working it did fire up not had much chances to look at it with work will have a good look today. thanks

Hi just checked all fuses all are fine is there a way to check the relay under the fuse box by the battery?
